Romania: Enexus to build 20 MW Titu 1 solar power plant in partnership with Akis Enerji

Enexus, a turnkey EPC provider specializing in large-scale solar power projects with integrated battery storage, has signed an agreement to construct the Titu 1 solar power plant in Dâmbovița County, Romania. The project includes a 20 MW solar installation alongside a 20 MVA transformer station.

The initiative is being developed in partnership with Akis Enerji, a subsidiary of Turkey’s Ulusoy Enerji Yatirimlari, which manages a renewable energy portfolio of approximately 200 MW across wind, hydro, and solar assets. The collaboration highlights both companies’ commitment to delivering impactful clean energy solutions.

Under the agreement, Enexus will be responsible for the full scope of engineering, procurement, and construction. This includes detailed project design, securing permits, sourcing equipment, performing civil works, and ensuring a reliable grid connection. Once the plant is commissioned, Enexus will also handle operations and maintenance, including continuous performance monitoring, preventive maintenance, and rapid corrective measures to ensure optimal performance.

The Titu 1 project is currently in the “ready to build” phase, with all necessary approvals secured — including environmental permits, grid connection authorizations, and land rights. Financing has also been arranged. Construction is expected to be completed by the end of 2025. Upon completion, the facility is projected to generate between 24.5 and 28 GWh of clean electricity annually, contributing to Romania’s energy security and its shift toward renewable energy.
