Electricity prices in Brčko District are set to increase following a decision by the State Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERK), which approved higher tariffs within the framework of universal electricity supply.
The adjustment follows the completion of a formal price-setting procedure, which included a public hearing held in Brčko last year. The review was launched after an 11% rise in electricity procurement costs, triggered by the signing of a new supply contract with EPBiH.
Under the regulator’s decision, the average retail electricity price will increase by 6.8% compared to the average level recorded in 2025. However, the price hike will not be uniform across all consumer categories.
Households will experience an increase of just over 7% in their electricity bills, while customers connected at the 0.4 kV level under the category of other consumption will face a smaller rise of 5.61%.
Despite the higher prices, the local utility company stated that it remains committed to ensuring a stable and uninterrupted electricity supply for all end users in the district. It stressed that reliability and continuity of service will remain a top priority as the new tariffs come into effect.
