At the request of transmission and distribution system operators EMS and EDS, the Council of the Energy Agency (AERS) has approved updated access fees for the transmission and distribution networks, which will take effect on 1 October. The transmission fee for 2025 will increase by 10% compared with the level set on 1 October 2021, while the distribution fee will rise by 16% relative to the tariff approved on the same 2021 date.
The Council also revised the methodology for calculating distribution system access. Household customers will continue to have the option to be billed for a reduced approved capacity without changing their connection approval, with this option available until 31 December 2026.
Changes were also made to the guaranteed supply pricing methodology. The boundary between the blue and red consumption tiers has been lowered from 1,600 kWh to 1,200 kWh per billing period, meaning customers will reach the higher price tier at a lower level of electricity use. Additionally, the Council extended temporary billing relief for households with three-phase connections whose approved capacity exceeds 11.04 kW but does not exceed 17.25 kW. For these customers, the approved active capacity will be billed at 11.04 kW. If monthly energy consumption is up to 350 kWh, the approved capacity billed for that month will be 6.90 kW. This measure is also valid until 31 December 2026.
