Serbia’s SEEPEX day-ahead market logged its highest monthly trading volume in September, with average electricity prices rising from August. The month also saw a higher baseload price and an increase in euro-peak averages. Alongside day-ahead activity, intraday trading recorded a separate volume and average price.
Total turnover reached 579,406.3 MWh, up 5.9% month on month and 26.6% year on year. Average daily volume was 19,313.5 MWh. These figures reflect the scale of activity on the Serbian wholesale platform during the month.
The monthly baseload price increased by 9.7% to €150.01/MWh. The euro-peak average rose by 14.1% to €131.83/MWh. Peak-period electricity stayed cheaper than the full-day average, indicating that the higher monthly prices did not remove the discount during conventional daytime delivery hours.
On the intraday market, traded volume was 5,801 MWh at an average price of €181.76/MWh. Intraday volume was equivalent to about 1% of day-ahead turnover, leaving the day-ahead auction as the dominant trading venue. The higher intraday average also points to a higher cost level for adjusting positions closer to delivery.
