A total of 495,637.7 MWh of electricity was traded on the day-ahead market of the Serbian power exchange SEEPEX in December 2025, marking a 6.2% increase compared to November, with an average of 15,988.3 MWh per day. However, traded volumes were still 4.1% lower year-on-year compared to December 2024.
The average daily base price on the day-ahead market in December stood at €115.5/MWh, which is a 2.2% decrease from the previous month, while the average euro-peak price fell by 2.9% to €128.7/MWh, reflecting softer market conditions toward the end of the year.
A new milestone was reached on the intraday continuous market on 25 December, when SEEPEX recorded a new trading volume record of 2,639 MWh, confirming the growing importance of intraday trading in Serbia.
SEEPEX was officially launched on 17 February 2016, with an initial traded volume of just 1,925 MWh. The exchange is jointly owned by Serbian TSO EMS and the European Power Exchange (EPEX SPOT), with the mission to develop a competitive, transparent and reliable electricity market in Serbia and the wider southeastern Europe region. The platform further expanded its services with the launch of the intraday market in July 2023.
