Greencells Renewables Albania, a subsidiary of Germany’s Greencells Group, has submitted an application for an environmental permit to build a 96 MW solar power plant in northeastern Albania, near the village of Kastriot.
The project would cover over 426,000 square meters and involve the installation of 137,150 solar panels and 268 inverters. The Albanian environmental agency is currently reviewing the documentation, with a 20-day public comment period underway before further steps can proceed.
Once approved, the company will seek a construction permit and energy production licenses. Established in 2023, Greencells Renewables Albania leads the group’s regional renewable energy expansion strategy.
